What a fantastic turnout at our September delegate meeting! Seeing the room completely filled with dedicated PTA leaders was truly inspiring.
Be sure to RSVP for our next Virtual Delegate Meeting on the evening of October 28th.
We have a busy month ahead! We are gearing up to launch a new resource designed to help local leaders promote their events, volunteer needs, and spirit nights across neighboring communities. Please scroll down through this newsletter to read about what we need from you before launch, and to take full advantage of all the resources shared in this issue!
Advocacy and nonpartisan voter education are front and center this month:
VATRE Endorsements: Thank you to everyone who participated in our endorsement process, and a special shoutout to VP of Communications Amanda Motes for designing personalized campus graphics. Email president@rrisdpta.org if you need source files for translation.
Candidate Forum: We are proud to co-host the Board of Trustees Candidate Forum with the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce on October 13th. A recording will be available after the event if you can't join us live.
Voter Resources: Thank you to our volunteers distributing League of Women Voters guides to campuses next week! Please encourage your school communities to research ballot measures and candidates using trusted, nonpartisan tools like vote411.org.
Important Election Dates:
Early Voting: Oct 19 – Oct 30
Election Day: Nov 3
Thank you for all you do to support Round Rock ISD students and families!
The RRISD Council of PTAs was recently recognized by Texas PTA as a “Council on the Move” for reaching over 85% of last year's total membership! Way to go, team! We couldn’t do this without the incredible support of our school community.
As of October 1st, our council membership stands strong at 13,093 members, bringing us to 93% of last year's total. Out of 55 local PTAs, 23 have already achieved year-over-year growth, and 9 more PTAs need fewer than 25 members to join their ranks.
We have plenty of exciting recognition ahead. Stay tuned for an update on the local PTAs that earned September’s “Early Bird” award by reaching 100% of last year's total. Looking ahead, October’s challenge is “Snappy Increase,” which recognizes any PTA that grows beyond last year's total membership.
Let's keep the momentum going by making sure we ask everyone to join—parents, students, teachers, staff, and community members. If you need fresh ideas to help grow your local PTA, check out the TXPTA “Idea Share” on Facebook to learn what is working across the state and share your own successes!
An important note was shared with Presidents and Treasurers on 9/28/26, please check your emails! Didn’t receive one? Contact Leslie at Treasurer@rrisdpta.org
Each Campus has the opportunity to receive future Community Membership Payments via ACH to their banking institutions. Please fill out this FORM to help the Council save on envelopes and stamps! Thank you!
Promote membership.
Submit membership dues and roster to Texas PTA at least monthly.
File quarterly sales tax return due in October, if applicable. Question? Start with the Treasurer’s Resource Guide.
Review the budget for amendments. Refer to the Build-A-Script to see how to present amendments to membership for approval.
Review President’s Challenge Award requirements again.
Promote participation in the Reflections Program.
Remember to take your assigned position training.

Attention Local PTA Leaders: Please Submit Your Board Rosters!
To help Council support you better and stay connected, we are asking every local PTA to upload their current Executive Board roster (including official PTA email addresses for all board members).
Currently, Council relies on Texas PTA position reporting to obtain contact info, which often leaves gaps in our communications. Having direct access to your local roster ensures that every board member receives relevant updates, training, and support.
Privacy First: Rosters will be stored securely in our private Council Google Drive, accessible only to Council Board members.
Peer Networking: We're also giving Local Presidents the option to opt in to a shared contact directory to make connecting with fellow presidents across the district easier.
Exciting New Resource Coming Soon: We are currently building a shared Council Calendar! This will allow local PTAs to advertise upcoming events, coordinate cross-school volunteer requests, and avoid date conflicts. While any local leader can subscribe to view the calendar via the Q&A group, event additions will be limited to Local Presidents (or VPs acting in place of the President). Having your roster on file ensures smooth setup and permissions for this feature.

This year’s Gala date is earlier, so don’t miss your chance to enter a basket! The more creative and unique your basket, the more excitement it generates- and the more funds we can give back to our schools, students, and teachers.

Be sure to enter your basket by January 29, 2027.
📦 You can also bring your completed basket to the Delegate Meeting on Wednesday, January 20, 2027.

On October 8, the City of Round Rock will recognize Unity Day through an official proclamation at the City Council meeting.
Schools can show their support by wearing orange, sharing Unity Day messaging, displaying the flyer, and encouraging their employees and customers to help create a community where everyone feels welcome and valued.
Our vision is to see orange throughout Round Rock as our schools, businesses, city leaders, organizations, and families stand together against bullying and celebrate unity and belonging.
We appreciate your continued partnership and support in helping us strengthen the connections within our schools and between our campuses.
Together, we can all belong. Together, it starts with us!
