Reflections/Arts In Education

Are you passionate about the arts and eager to support local students? The Round Rock ISD Council of PTAs is seeking dedicated community members and art enthusiasts to volunteer as judges for this year's Council-level Reflections entries.

What to Expect

• Time Commitment: 1–2 hours total.

• Evaluation: Review and score student submissions across various artistic categories using established PTA rubric guidelines.

• Impact: Your feedback and scoring help celebrate student creativity and determine which entries advance to the next level of competition.

About Reflections:

The National PTA Reflections program encourages students of all ages and abilities to explore and be involved in the arts. Through the program, National PTA, Texas PTA, and PTAs across the country urge students in preschool through grade 12 to create and submit original works of art in the medium of their choice - dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts - reflecting on a specific theme. There also is a special artist division option for students with disabilities to ensure that all students have the opportunity to participate in the program. Students are recognized each year for their artistic ingenuity to bring the theme to life in a way that is personal and meaningful.   

Founded in 1969, the National PTA Reflections engages nearly 300,000 students and their families in arts education activities each year - encouraging students to explore the arts for fun and recognition.  Explore this site for more information about the program.

Student Participation:

The Reflections program is open to all Texas students who meet the necessary requirements below:

• Students must attend a school with a Local PTA/PTSA, or students must attend a school which is defined within the service area of a community-based Local PTA/PTSA

• The student or at least one person from their primary household must be a current member of the Local PTA/PTSA where the student is participating. Each Local PTA/PTSA may determine a date by which the member must join.

**At least one person in the student's primary household must be a member of that PTA no later than October 31, 2026. 

Awards and Recognition:

Each level of Reflections judging will determine how and when their participating students are celebrated. Here is an outline of the awards and recognition received if the entry advances to Texas PTA and National PTA.

Home-School Families, Virtual Schools, and Non-PTA Schools:

Students who attend a school that is not supported by a Local PTA/PTSA may participate Reflections through the Lone Star Statewide PTA, if the student or at least one person of their primary household is a member of this PTA no later than October 31.
