IMPORTANT: NATIONAL PTA REFLECTIONS GUIDELINES ON AI AND OTHER DIGITAL TOOLS
Digital technology and/or software may not provide the primary design and/or concept, but can be used to develop, enhance and/or present an entry. Entries may not be exclusively created with generative tools (e.g., AI) and/or composed exclusively of elements generated or provided by the technology platform.
Digital characters created by the student are acceptable. If the software created the characters for them, that would not be acceptable. This is similar to AI-generated images commonly seen on social media platforms. Students should not ask AI to create the character or design the entry for them. They should be the creative force behind their own work.

About Reflections:
The National PTA Reflections program encourages students of all ages and abilities to explore and be involved in the arts. Through the program, National PTA, Texas PTA, and PTAs across the country urge students in preschool through grade 12 to create and submit original works of art in the medium of their choice - dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts - reflecting on a specific theme. There also is a special artist division option for students with disabilities to ensure that all students have the opportunity to participate in the program. Students are recognized each year for their artistic ingenuity to bring the theme to life in a way that is personal and meaningful.
Founded in 1969, the National PTA Reflections engages nearly 300,000 students and their families in arts education activities each year - encouraging students to explore the arts for fun and recognition. Explore this site for more information about the program.

The Reflections program is open to all Texas students who meet the necessary requirements below:
Students must attend a school with a Local PTA/PTSA, or students must attend a school which is defined within the service area of a community-based Local PTA/PTSA
The student or at least one person from their primary household must be a current member of the Local PTA/PTSA where the student is participating. Each Local PTA/PTSA may determine a date by which the member must join.
**At least one person in the student's primary household must be a member of that PTA no later than October 31, 2026.

Each level of Reflections judging will determine how and when their participating students are celebrated. Here is an outline of the awards and recognition received if the entry advances to Texas PTA and National PTA.
Home-School Families, Virtual Schools, and Non-PTA Schools:
Students who attend a school that is not supported by a Local PTA/PTSA may participate Reflections through the Lone Star Statewide PTA, if the student or at least one person of their primary household is a member of this PTA no later than October 31.
