What is the Clothes Closet?
The Clothes Closet is a service project run by the Round Rock ISD Council of PTAs that provides gently used clothing, along with new socks and underwear, to students in need.
Who qualifies for the Clothes Closet?
All students attending any of the 56 Round Rock ISD schools are eligible to receive services.
How does the Clothes Closet receive donations?
Families donate clothing through their local schools, typically by leaving items with the school nurse. Local PTAs contribute annual funds to purchase new socks and underwear, and individual monetary donations are also accepted (receipts available). Schools and PTAs may hold clothing drives throughout the year.
What do clients receive?
Each student may receive per semester:
5 tops
5 bottoms (pants, skirts, shorts, or a dress)
1 sweatshirt
5 new pairs of underwear
5 new pairs of socks
Plus one coat and one jacket per school year.
Who staffs the Clothes Closet?
Each shift is led by a Council PTA representative and staffed by volunteers from local PTAs.
